🌟Manipura🌟

by Kalyani Yoga

This week our focus was Manipura Chakra, located by our navel. It is connected to our sense of purpose, our self-esteem and drive to follow our passions. The element associated with this energy centre is fire and we may be familiar with the phrase “Fire in one’s belly” – our determination.

To help connect with this space we practised Kaplabhati breath. This type of forceful breathing helps to energise and strengthen this chakra and how we feel.  And sometimes we need this, to feel more confident, more self-assured and more purposeful.

Our asana practise also focused on strength and mobility around the navel.  By holding the warrior poses we felt strong in our own body and the space that we occupy (both physically and emotionally). Quite a challenging class this week, but we are all hopefully feeling stronger. Here is a link I promised you to my other blog post that has the mythical story of the warrior poses.

Sometimes critical or judgemental language to ourselves can deplete this chakra and we should be aware if we do this. Instead speak kindly, with feelings of self-love, self-acceptance and joy, to strengthen this energy centre.

Embrace the wonderful you and have a fabulous week!!

As always, I would love to hear your thoughts…
