This week our focus has been Anahata/Heart Chakra and giving love unconditionally. This chakra is located in the middle of our chest and is connected to the air element. During the last few weeks, the chakras we have focused on, have helped us in being grounded with a sense of our purpose and passions. Now, through the heart chakra we can give our love freely and unconditionally. To be able to give love effectively, we need to come from a place of abundance. To enable that feeling of abundance we need to love ourselves.
How can we love ourselves? By doings things that nourish us, are positive and fill us with good feelings. These might be, reading a book, walking in nature, practising yoga, time with a good friend, listening to music, helping others and the list goes on. For each of us there are things that we know make us feel good. It is up to us to make the time to do those things so that our cup can be full.
In class we looked at physically encouraging more openness in our poses around the heart centre. Focusing on the flow of the breath and feeling that we are smiling, from the inside, out. Our yoga practice was time for ourselves, to love ourselves unconditionally.
When we feel good, we are a better person and we can give so much more love to others unconditionally – without expectation. We can feel connected to the world we live in.
Rather than focusing on the returns of our actions let us focus on giving love unconditionally. These actions could be holding the door open for someone, giving way to another car, telling someone you love them without expecting them to say it back.
I’m going to smile at everyone I see and not expect anything back. Let me know how you will give love unconditionally…
Give joyfully and receive gratefully.
