This week in class, we explored the theme Yoga off the Mat—a gentle reminder that our yoga practice doesn’t end when we roll up the mat. It continues in the way we speak, act, and show up for others, Karma Yoga.
In yoga philosophy, Karma Yoga teaches us that selfless action is a path to peace. When we act with care, without expectation, we share our inner light with the world around us. I shared a verse from the Thirukkural that felt especially fitting: “Giving to others is the ornament of the hand.” It reminded us that even small gestures can ripple outward.
We closed with a peaceful chant—Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu—a prayer for happiness and freedom for all beings. It was a beautiful way to honour our practice and the community we create together.
Thank you for being part of this journey. May your light continue to shine in ways big and small.
